full immersion baptism

Matthew 28:19-20

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

Calvary believes that baptism is a commandment of the Lord and expresses a union with Christ in his death and resurrection. It represents a turning away from our old life of sin to a new life in Jesus. In baptism we are publicly identifying with the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and openly joining the ranks of those who believe in Him.

Baby dedication

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

As Abraham trained up his children so should we. Our children belong to the Lord, and parents and overseers should raise them accordingly and pray they will come to a knowledge and faith of Jesus Christ. Dedication is a promise to instruct them in the principles of Christian living. Dedication is also a way for the congregation to join in prayer for the family, as well as commit to being a supportive community for them.
