Children + Youth

At Calvary Baptist Church, our Children and Youth Christian Education Program is multi-age based. Our teachers desire to promote a nuturing environment where our children and youth experience the love of Jesus Christ through the care, compassion, and prayers of our church. We focus on:

  1. Helping children and youth experience the meaning of their heritage as Children of God
  2. Emphasizing Bible stories and the importance of studying God's word
  3. Practicing prayer and developing a sense of communication with God
  4. Providing opportunities for children and youth to share their faith; examples include worship service participation, mission activities, and service projects

Children's Church and Youth Connection

Children, pre-school through fifth grade, may come forward when summoned during the worship service, after which they are dismissed for Children's Church activities. Older children (middle schoolers) are dismissed at the same time on the second and fourth Sundays for Youth Connection. All children and youth are met by their parents in the education wing at the conclusion of the worship service.

There are various holiday activities, mission programs, and service projects throughout the year. These include our Autumn Celebration, Christmas Craft Days, our Christmas Pageant, Christmas Pie Making, Christmas Caroling, Christmas Eve Candlelight Service, Valentine Activity for our Seniors, our Easter Play, Children's Day Celebration, and Youth Worship in June. Several summer activities are also planned: Christmas in July and our Summer Concert in the Courtyard.

Nursery care, for babies and toddlers up to age two, is available during the worship service. Ushers will direct parents with babies and toddlers to the Nursery at 10:50am.

If necessary, nursery care can also be made available September through June beginning at 9:45am during the One Room Sunday School House.
