Christian Education and Gatherings

We have an array of different activities and weekly group meetings to get involved with to start connecting with the rest of the church congregation. We offer both Christian education and simple fellowship outside of Sunday mornings. Interested in getting involved with more than just Sundays? Scroll down to see what opportunities are available!

Sunday Morning Bible Studies

Sunday Morning: 9:45am

You can attend one of our two adult bible studies:

1. World Religions: Ruth Kulkarni explores world religions in her class, using a combination of digital and physical media to teach. This class is held on the second floor of the church in the last classroom on the left opposite the Hand Bell Choir rehearsal room.

2. Creation Restored: Pastors Sarah's class studies The Gospel according to Genesis using the book Creation Restored by Matt Carter and Halim studying Genesis 12-50. Come and explore how the early portions of the Bible foreshadow the gospel of Jesus Christ – the good news of salvation and redemption that we find only in relationship with Him. When we read about Abraham, Jacob, and Joseph  – the family of promise – we read about salvation by faith. We begin to understand that God orchestrates everything, including suffering and evil, in order to redeem the consequences of the fall and ultimately restore us to Him.

Wednesday Bible Studies

Morning Study: 9:30am – 10:30am

The class is studying Coronthians taught by Joyce Keedy, Organist/Choir Director and Pastor Sarah.

It is held in the second floor classroom at the end of the hall.

Evening Study: 7pm – 8pm

Prayer and Bible Study by Pastor Sean in the Fellowship Hall/Social Room.

Additional Gatherings and Home Groups

  • College Group

    Weekly on Wednesday Nights

    7pm - 8pm

Are you a college student looking to get involved in the church and meet fellow believers? Then you'll want to come to the young adults College Group! There will be a bible study and fellowship, and you can even make some new friends in the process.

If you can't make it on October 19th, don't worry! We will be meeting again next week, so be sure to check back here for further details on our next meeting.

Location: Church Building (Enter through the backdoor, walk down the stairs, and turn left. We will be meeting in the College Room/ Winnie the Pooh Room downstairs, the first room on the left.)

  • The 7th Man Gathering

Meetings will be determined by Pastor Sean. Call the church for more details.

7th Man is a men's fellowship group that meets periodically to encourage men in living intentionally for the Lord. 7th Man is a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church; however all men are invited to attend. Led by Pastor Sean, the 7th Man group is guided by the Holy Spirit in seeking to understand and live according to God's plan in every area of life. Using the Bible as our guide, we share freely our individual journeys with God, so that we can together encourage and equip every man to follow Jesus faithfully in the adventure of discipleship.

  • Senior Sharing in Fellowship (SSF)

This group meets the 3rd Saturday of each month sharing stories about their life and walk with God.  The only condition to join in the conversation is the ability to laugh, have a little fun (we have some fun exercises!), indulge in a few snacks/treats and fellowship with other believers.  Why not come out and see what the SSF is all about!

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” - 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV)

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,  not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” -   Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV)

  • Moms Group

The Moms group is a time when young mothers join together for fellowship and support for each other. New moms of Calvary or the Community would appreciate this group. We begin with prayer and devotion and then open ourselves to where the Holy Spirit leads as we look to support each other as Christian mothers. We normally meet on Thursday mornings and plan it when the moms have babysitters available to watch their child.

If you are interested in coming, please call Pastor Sarah at 410-825-3360.
