*CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 148
Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD from the heavens;
praise God in the heights!
Praise the Lord, all angels;
praise God all heavenly host!
Praise the Lord, sun and moon;
praise God, all you shining stars!
Praise the Lord, you highest heavens, and you waters above the heavens!
Let them praise the name of the LORD, for God commanded and they
were created.
The Lord established them forever and ever; and fixed their bounds,
which cannot be passed.
Praise the LORD from the earth…

RESPONSIVE CALL TO PRAYER:
We struggle to imagine what it must have been like…
For Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
What was it like for humans to relate to one who was divine and
human?
Was it like Jonathan and Martha Kent with
Superman?
Did his parents fear that people would find out who Jesus really
was?
Was Jesus never afraid of getting lost?
We wonder… and worry… and we can never fully know…
Even the stories of his childhood give incomplete
answers.
Yet, we know he had to grow and learn, in obedience to human and
divine paradigms.
Lord God, in whose image, even we are fashioned, help us to learn
and grow as Jesus did. Amen.
*HYMN 107: "O, Come Little Children"
THE LETTERS: Colossians 3: 12-17 pg. 1027
SERMON: "Christmas Clothes"
*INVITATION HYMN 103: "Away in a Manger"
Decisions of faith are personal decisions. It is for us to choose
if we will believe in God. Decisions of faith are also public and
corporate decisions. When we choose to follow Jesus we are choosing
to become part of the “Body of Christ”, the Church.
If you would like to confirm the decision you have made to begin
your life of faith or continue that life as a part of this congregation,
come forward as we sing the invitational hymn and speak with the
worship leader about your decision.
