*CALL TO WORSHIP:                             Psalm 26: 1-11

Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.

Prove me, O LORD, and try me; test my heart and

mind.

For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in faithfulness to you.

I do not sit with the worthless, nor do I consort with hypocrites;

I hate the company of evildoers, and will not sit with the wicked.

I wash my hands in innocence, and go around your altar, O LORD, singing aloud a song of thanksgiving, and telling all your wondrous deeds.

O LORD, I love the house in which you dwell, and the place where your glory abides.

Do not sweep me away with sinners, nor my life with the bloodthirsty,

those in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes.

But as for me, I walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me.

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION      by Lavon Baylor

O God, you have made us for human companionship, but we have chosen our own lonely way.  You have called us to make commitments and to live by them, but we have violated our promises and made excuses for ourselves.  You have created us to reflect your glory, but we have turned away from the example and sacrifice of Christ to seek our own way.  Turn us back from our limited vision and hardness of heart to become more fully your own people. Amen.

WORDS OF ASSURANCE: Blessed is everyone who fears God and walks in God’s ways.  By the grace of God, Jesus tasted death for everyone and triumphed over it so we can experience newness of life.  Praise God. Amen.

SHARING THE BREAD                              #366

Let us break bread together on our knees,

Let us break bread together on our knees;

When I fall on my knees, With my face to the rising sun,

O Lord, have mercy on me.

Let us praise God together on our knees,

Let us praise God together on our knees;

When I fall on my knees, With my face to the rising sun,

O Lord, have mercy on me.

SHARING THE CUP                                                #368

Here at your table, Lord, This sacred hour,

O let us feel You near, In loving power;

Calling our thoughts away From self and sin,

As to Your banquet hall We enter in.

Come then, O holy Christ, Feed us, we pray;

Touch with Your pierced hand Each common day,

Making this earthly life Full of Your grace,

Till, in the home of heaven, We find our place.
