PRELUDE                  Fantasia on “Old Hundredth”

Tune: “Genevan Pslater” 1551, Arr. by R. C. Wilson

INTROIT 226:            “Bind Us Together”

CALL TO WORSHIP:                                   Psalm 149

Praise the LORD! Sing to the LORD a new song, his praise in the assembly of the faithful.

Let Israel be glad in its Maker; let the children of Zion rejoice in their Ruler.

Let them praise his name with dancing, making melody to him with tambourine and lyre.  For the LORD takes pleasure in his people; he adorns the humble with victory.

Let the faithful exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their couches.

Let the high praises of God be in their throats and two-edged swords in their hands, to execute vengeance on the nations and punishment on the peoples, to bind their kings with fetters and their nobles with chains of iron, to execute on them the judgment decreed.

This is glory for all his faithful ones. Praise the

LORD!

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION:

God, who moved over the waters in creation, bringing order from chaos, and who moved over Egypt at Passover, bringing chaos from that nation’s perceived order, we know that you are ever in motion over us.  In Your moving we know that You have the power to bring life and beginning, or death and ending… We pray that You would bring us life.  It isn’t that we deserve life, any more than all Jewish first born deserved life, or all Egyptian first born deserved death…  We pray that in Your grace we might be given this day to begin again to order our steps in your way.  Amen.

THE LORD’S SUPPER

SHARING THE BREAD                                          (#371)

I come with joy to meet my Lord,

Forgiven, loved, and free,

In awe and wonder to recall

His life laid down for me.

As Christ breaks bread and bids us share,

Each proud division ends,

The love that made us, makes us one,

And strangers now are friends.

SHARING THE CUP                                                            (#330)

Amazing grace!  How sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,

And grace my fears relieved;

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed.

GREET EACH OTHER WITH THE PEACE OF CHRIST
