CALL
TO PRAYER David
Wylie
Sometimes it seems too hard
for us, God… hard to be joyful and celebrate your presence with us,
Hard to be
strong for others and serve gladly, hard to make the choices we know you would
like us to make.
Sometimes we don’t feel like
getting along with others in our world… people we know and even people we don’t
know.
Sometimes we
forget to say “thank you” and sometimes we completely leave you out.
Forgive us, O God, and hear
us as we tell you the things we are sorry about, in the quiet of our own
hearts…(pause)… For all these things we are truly sorry, Dear God.
Forgive us and
restore us.
You have told
us in Isaiah that you will never forget us, that we are your people, and that
you hold us in the palm of your hand.
You forgive
our failures, you accept us as we are, and you set us free.
Let us remember that we are
a forgiven people.
Thanks be to
you, O God.

SHARING THE
BREAD #370
For
by the life and death of Jesus ,
God’s
mighty spirit, now as then,
Can
make for us a world of difference,
As
faith and hope are born again.
In
faith we’ll gather ‘round the table,
To
taste and share what love can do.
This
is a day of new beginnings;
Our
God is making all things new.
SHARING
THE CUP #172
The
strife is o’er, the battle done;
The
victory of life is won;
The
song of triumph has begun: Alleluia!
Lord,
by thy stripes which wounded Thee,
From
death’s dread sting Thy servants flee,
That
we may live and sing to Thee: Alleluia!
