*CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 139: 1-6, 13-18
O LORD, thou hast searched me and known me! Thou knowest when I sit down and when I rise
up;
thou discernest my thoughts from afar.
Thou searchest out my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with
all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it
altogether. Thou dost beset me behind
and before, and layest thy hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it
is high, I cannot attain it.
For thou didst form my inward parts, thou didst knit me together in my
mother's womb. I praise thee, for thou
art fearful and wonderful.
Wonderful are thy works! Thou knowest me right well;
my frame was not hidden from thee, when I was being made in secret,
intricately wrought in the depths of the earth.
Thy eyes beheld my unformed substance; in thy book were written, every
one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of
them.
How precious to me are thy thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
If I would count them, they are more than the sand.
When I awake, I am still with thee.

RESPONSIVE CALL TO PRAYER:
Artists have great latitude with their work all during its creation,
But once it is sold
they have little to say about where
it gets hung or how it
is used.
Oh, there was a house, in
But that was Frank Lloyd Wright, and his
fame allowed him to be a little eccentric.
What kind of creative freedom does a potter and her pots?
I guess she has freedom to reshape them
until the pot is fired.
I guess the crucial question for this parable is when does the firing
come?
How long is
humanity able to be reshaped?
God who fashioned from the earth Adam… Creator who brings us all to
life…
Keep us ever pliable throughout life… so
that You can always mold us to fit the moment.
Amen.

Decisions of faith are personal decisions. It is for us to choose if we will believe in
God. Decisions of faith are also public
and corporate decisions. When we choose
to follow Jesus we are choosing to become part of the “Body of Christ”, the
Church. If you would like to confirm the
decision you have made to begin your life of faith or continue that life as a
part of this congregation, come forward as we sing the invitational hymn and
speak with the worship leader about your decision.
