INTROIT

*CALL TO WORSHIP:                                   Psalm 27: 1-4, 8

The LORD is my light and my salvation;

whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life;

of whom shall I be afraid?

When evildoers assail me to devour my flesh-- my adversaries and foes—

they shall stumble and fall.

Though an army encamp against me,

my heart shall not fear;

though war rise up against me,

yet I will be confident.

One thing I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD,

and to inquire in his temple.

"Come," my heart says, "seek his face!"

Your face, LORD, do I seek.

UNISON PRAYER OF CONFESSION:

Covenanting God, you who made covenants with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all Israel, covenants which you confirmed with impressive signs, sadly, those covenants were not always honored by Your children… yet You continued to remain faithful to Your promise.  In Christ You have made a covenant with us and all humanity, a covenant sealed with the signs of the cross and resurrection;  sadly, we too often have failed to honor that covenant.  We have failed to love You, to walk in your ways, and keep your commandments.  Forgive us Lord, and renew us with the promise that even though we may be unfaithful, You remain faithful.  Heal us from our sin and restore us with Your promise…restore us to be Your promise to the whole earth.  Amen.

SHARING THE BREAD                                pg. #416

My faith looks up to Thee,

Thou Lamb of Calvary Savior divine!

Now hear me while I pray, take all my guilt away,

O let me from this day, be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart strength to my fainting heart,

My zeal inspire;

As Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee

Pure, warm and changeless be, A living fire!

SHARING THE CUP                                      pg. #342

Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee;

Let the water and the blood,

From Thy wounded side which flowed.

Be of sin the double cure, Save from wrath and make me pure.

Not the labors of my hands Can fulfill thy law’s demands;

These for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone:

In my hand no price I bring, Simply to Thy cross I cling.  Amen.
